AMWELL

Counterfeit bill: A man attempted to make a purchase at the Exxon station, 1748 Amity Ridge Road, Saturday using a $100 bill inscribed with “motion picture only.” The cashier refused the purchase, and the man fled from the store.

CANONSBURG

Assault charges: Caitlin Ann Shannon, 29, of 372 Treetop Drive, Canonsburg, was arrested early Sunday by Canonsburg police after she allegedly kicked Sgt. James Spingola, who was taking her into custody stemming from an incident in the parking lot of 342 W. Pike St. Police had been called for a fight in the lot. When they arrived, they found Shannon along with several other people. Police were taking her into custody for public drunkenness when she allegedly kicked Spingola as he tried to place her in handcuffs. Shannon was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. She was released from Washington County jail after posting a $25,000 percentage bond.

Warrant arrest: Clark Campbell, 34, of 347 E. Pike St., Houston, was taken into custody early Sunday by Canonsburg police on a bench warrant after he allegedly was seen going through a vehicle parked in the lot at 342 W. Pike St. Police said he had items he reportedly stole Saturday from Dollar General, 148 Adams Ave. Campbell was placed in Washington County jail on a bench warrant.

Purse stolen: Sandra Mertens of McMurray told Canonsburg police her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the lot at St. Patrick’s Church, 317 W. Pike St. Inside the purse were her wallet containing $210 and credit cards, two checks and a checkbook. She later learned two credit cards were used at two Washington-area businesses.

CANTON

Harassment: Ashley Shavonae Weister, 24, of Washington, will be charged with harassment after state police said she called the father of her child 92 times in five hours from a Canton Township home and sent harassing text messages Saturday.

Assault warrant: State police issued an arrest warrant for Drew T. Scholato, 26, of Washington, after he allegedly assaulted and attempted to strangle a 20-year-old woman at 240 Caldwell Ave. Sunday. He faces charges of simple assault, strangulation and harassment. The police report did not indicate if the woman sought medical treatment.

ELLSWORTH

Receiving charge: Frederick W. Markovitz IV, 34, of 24 Walnut St., Ellsworth, was charged Friday with receiving stolen property after a stolen vehicle was recovered from behind his home Feb. 11, state police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

Assault arrest: Frank Alan Moze, 46, of Ellsworth, was charged with simple assault, harassment and a traffic violation after he allegedly struck a 22-year-old woman in the face on Grant Street in Somerset Township shortly after noon Friday, state police said. The woman refused medical treatment. He was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.

ROBINSON

Paraphernalia charge: Brian Lee Watters, 36, of Pittsburgh, was charged by McDonald police with possession of paraphernalia stemming from an incident Friday afternoon at 1164 N. Branch Road, Robinson. Police said they found him with suspected marijuana pipes, a bong and a grinder while responding to the home for a report of an assault. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.

NORTH STRABANE

Trooper assault alleged: Nicole Lynn Shuba, 31, of Meadow Lands, was arrested Saturday night by state police at The Meadows Casino, 210 Racetrack Road, North Strabane. Shuba is accused of kicking Trooper James Amitrone as he took her into custody after she allegedly shoved a casino worker and grabbed the arm of another casino employee. Shuba also allegedly refused to comply with police orders. She was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of assault of a law enforcement officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Driver identified: South Strabane police have identified the motorcycle operator critically injured late Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed off Route 40 near Kopper Kettle Road as David J. Woodhouse Jr., 37, of Washington. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment after the crash.

PFA violation alleged: Eric J. Hoefler, 39, of 1068 Beech St., South Strabane, was arrested Saturday by township police after he allegedly violated a protection-from-abuse order obtained by his wife by contacting her. He was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $75,000 bond.

Liner stolen: Andrea Slack-Craig of Marianna told South Strabane police Friday a liner was stolen from the bed of her pickup truck while it was parked at Lowe’s, Strabane Square.

Vehicle damaged: Craig Roupe of Washington told South Strabane police Friday his vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the lot at Texas Roadhouse, Strabane Square.

WASHINGTON

Arrested on warrants: India McCullough, 26, of Washington, was arrested Saturday night on four warrants obtained by state police charging her with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance stemming from incidents in Washington in April, August and October 2016 and in South Strabane Township in November 2015. She also faces a contraband charge after she allegedly was found with suspected marijuana under her clothing while being processed at the Washington County jail. She was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit, who set a total bond of $100,000.

Assault: A 65-year-old Washington woman reported to police she was assaulted while walking on North Main Street about 8:42 p.m. Saturday. She told police a man walking the opposite direction cursed at her and told her to move out of his way, according to the police report. The man then allegedly struck her in the face. Police are investigating.

DUI warrant: Jordan Michael Dudley, 29, of 729 N. Main St., Houston, was taken into custody Saturday on a warrant obtained by state police charging him with driving under the influence of alcohol, false identification to police, driving with a suspended license and several traffic violations stemming from a Feb. 20 traffic stop in Washington. Police said they saw him almost hit another vehicle in a Jefferson Avenue parking lot and then stopped him a few blocks away. He was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

DUI alleged in crash: State police said the driver involved in a one-vehicle crash about 1:25 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 70 westbound near the Jefferson Avenue exit in Washington was intoxicated. The name of the 50-year-old man was not released, pending charges.

Stabbing: A Washington woman was hospitalized Saturday after reportedly being stabbed at a party Friday night. Washington police responded to Washington Hospital for a report of a 43-year-old woman who suffered stab wounds. Police said the woman told them she was at a party near the Family Dollar on Highland Avenue when she and a man started fighting. The man allegedly stabbed her twice in the back. Police said the woman would not give them any additional information or identify the man who stabbed her.

Shoplifting charge: Zoe K. Tuff, 46, of Washington was charged with retail theft Monday by city police. The charge stems from an allegation she tried to leave Shop ‘n Save without paying for $27 in steaks and lunch meats. The charge was sent by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.

Corruption of minors charge: Douglas E. Allen, 33, of Washington was charged by city police Monday with possession of cocaine and corruption of minors based on a report from a 17-year-old. The teenager allegedly told police Allen took him to his Addison Street residence on the evening of Feb. 7, provided him with cocaine and encouraged him to use it. The charges were filed by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.

Fraud alleged: Jennifer Englert, 40, of South Park Township, was charged Monday by North Franklin Township police with theft by deception and home improvement fraud. The charges stem from allegations she took more than $40,000 from a local man who had hired her company, Englert Interior Designs Co., for materials and work on a home-improvement project that was to have started in May or June. To date, the family hasn’t received any materials, and work hasn’t begun, police said in court papers. The charges were filed by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.

WEST BROWNSVILLE

Charged in thefts: Nicholas Field, 29, of Belle Vernon, was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jesse Pettit on five counts of retail theft and one count of receiving stolen property filed by West Brownsville police. He is accused of stealing from Walmart, Daniel Kendall Drive, Dec. 6 and Jan. 17 and 20. He was placed in Washington County jail on $7,500 bond.
