A Pittsburgh man was arrested Wednesday by a member of the state police Organized Crime Task Force after he allegedly sold items reported stolen earlier in the week from a Chartiers Township home.

Andrew John Dzura, 39, of Pittsburgh, was arraigned Thursday morning before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of burglary, conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Township police received a report Monday afternoon of a burglary of a home on Whitetail Drive. The burglar reportedly forced open a back door. Once inside, the thief stole a variety of items, including a Kitchen Aid mixer, two television sets, an Amazon Firestick, desktop computer, wall phone, answering machine, jewelry and $1,500.

Township police contacted the task force Wednesday after family members of the victim found several of the stolen items listed for sale on two websites. State police investigators found the items for sale on letgo.com and began communicating with the seller about the mixer.

After talking with the seller, later identified by police as Dzura, arrangements were made to meet him at his Mount Washington home. He was identified as a family friend of the victims, police said.

Two undercover troopers met the seller at his home. They said Dzura handed them the mixer, which was being sold for $78. When asked if he had anything else for sale, Dzura allegedly said he had some jewelry and television sets that were in his apartment and asked if they wanted to see the items.

The troopers then identified themselves as state police. Additional troopers and Pittsburgh police assisted in detaining Dzura.

Dzura allegedly detailed his involvement in the burglary and implicated several other people. He reportedly turned over several of the stolen items to state police.

Dzura was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. He is scheduled for a March 20 preliminary hearing before District Judge David Mark.
