Carroll woman faces drug, child endangerment charges

Gray
A Carroll Township woman was arrested Wednesday on charges including endangering the welfare of children, possession of heroin and access device fraud stemming from separate incidents at her home in December.
Theresa Rebecca Gray, 32, of 187 Ridge Road, also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless endangerment.
Police said they were called to her home Dec. 8 after getting a call from the father of her 13-year-old daughter, who said the girl had found items including needles and spoons that belonged to her mother.
The girl’s father met police at the home and said his daughter was very upset about the items she had found in her room. The girl’s grandfather, who owns the property, gave police permission to search the home.
Police said they opened the girl’s dresser and found a purple cloth bag containing numerous hypodermic needles, including one that was loaded with suspected heroin, empty stamp bags and other paraphernalia, including crack pipes. Paraphernalia also was found in Gray’s purse, they said.
Gray reportedly told police she had several people living with her when she was an addict, but that she was in recovery from her addiction. When asked if she knew about the items in her daughter’s room, Gray reportedly did not respond.
Police said they also found credit cards belonging to the girl’s grandmother in Gray’s purse. The grandmother put a hold on the cards and determined they had been used without her permission. Police said the cards had been used to make $1,102.32 in fraudulent purchases.
Gray was arraigned on the charges before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. She faces a March 22 preliminary hearing before Hopkins.
