Langeloth man accused of asking 14-year-old daughter to sell marijuana
A Burgettstown man was arrested Sunday by McDonald police on charges including endangering the welfare of children after he allegedly asked his young daughter to sell marijuana.
Kevin Lee Mick, 43, of 228 Charles St., Langeloth, also is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana and corruption of minors.
A Burgettstown woman whose daughters had contact with a girl they knew at Burgettstown Community Park called McDonald police. The girl, identified by police as Mick’s 14-year-old daughter, allegedly was bragging she had marijuana and pulled several bags of the drug from a book bag.
The girl also allegedly told the other girls her parents told her to sell the marijuana to a man, and she was to get $150.
The two girls reportedly told police they saw the other girl throw a bag of suspected marijuana on a dirt trail off Plum Run Road. The girls took police to the location, where a bag of suspected marijuana was found in a hole between two rocks.
Police learned five children between the ages of 7 and 14 had eaten some marijuana at the park.
Police said the girl’s book bag was found in Mick’s vehicle, and inside it were a pipe and a bag of suspected marijuana.
McDonald police Chief Mark Dorsey said the investigation is continuing. Charges are pending against the 14-year-old and her mother, he said.
Mick was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
He is scheduled for an April 26 preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Havelka.
