For those who think Peters Township has been overwhelmed completely by suburban sprawl, meet Elsie.

At least that’s what we’ll call her, in tribute to the longtime bovine mascot of the dearly departed Borden Dairy Co.

Chris Blednick, who woke up Tuesday morning to find Elsie’s real-life counterpart wandering through her Peters yard, had no idea about the cow’s actual name, nor who might own it.

All she knew was that the wayward beast turned out to be a friendly one, as she posed for a few pictures before continuing her jaunt around the Venetia Road area, near Lynch’s Landscape and Buck Drake Nursery, before presumably heading back toward the farm from whence she came.
