CUMBERLAND

Simple assault charge: Glenn Franklin Yoney, 47, of 506 E. George St., Carmichaels, was charged with simple assault and harassment after Cumberland Township police said they were dispatched to Yoney’s home at 7:48 p.m. Saturday for a domestic dispute. Police said they found Yoney bleeding from the head and his girlfriend, Brenda Kuntz, had a bloody nose and ripped shirt. Kuntz was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

FRANKLIN

False statement: Kevin Richard Johnson, 45, of Ford City, Armstrong County, was charged Monday with false written statement for the purchase of a firearm and unsworn falsification to authorities after state police said he tried to purchase a 12-gauge shotgun from a Franklin Township store April 27, 2016.

JEFFERSON

Simple assault alleged: James Popielarcheck, 29, of 106 Second St. in Jefferson Township, was charged with simple assault and harassment after Sarah Georgiana told state police Popielarcheck grabbed her by the arm, held her on the couch and elbowed her in the eye at 6 p.m. Saturday at his residence.

RICHHILL

Armed robbery: Scott Jehu Campbell, 27, of 302 W. Roy Furman Highway, Wind Ridge, was charged with robbery and simple assault after he allegedly robbed a motorist at gunpoint Saturday morning in Richhill Township. Thomas Allen Jr. told state police that he was driving on Route 21 near the Exxon gas station about 10:45 a.m. when Campbell waved to him to stop while standing on the side of the road near the driveway of his residence. When Allen pulled over, Campbell took a semiautomatic pistol from the front pocket of his shorts and pointed it at Allen’s head, police said. Campbell reportedly took Allen’s cell phone out of his hand, and Allen then drove away, police said. As he left, he heard three gunshots and saw Campbell aiming at his truck in his rearview mirror, according to court documents. Campbell is free on $15,000 bond.

WAYNESBURG

Terroristic threats charge: David H. Stauffer, 54, of 52 1/2 W. Greene St., Waynesburg, was charged with terroristic threats, false imprisonment, simple assault and harassment after Waynesburg police said they heard screams for help coming from Stauffer’s residence shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday. Stauffer’s girlfriend, Christina Wilson, told police Stauffer would not let her leave his home, threatening to hit her with a vacuum cleaner hose, using his weight to prevent Wilson from opening the door and pulling a phone out of her hand.

Simple assault charge: Ryan Joseph Brooks, 34, of 175 Dewey Ave., Spraggs, was charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after Waynesburg police said he punched a woman in the head and pulled her hair outside 53 S. Richhill St. in the borough shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday.
