Mon Valley Alliance created a new position and Clara L. Pascoe has a new job.

She is director of development for the organization, whose mission is to promote and market “economic, community and workforce development in the mid-Mon Valley.”

Her hiring was announced Monday by Chris Whitlatch, CEO of the Charleroi-based alliance

Pascoe will serve MVA’s senior fundraiser. Whitlatch, in a prepared statement, said: “We are excited to have Clara as a part of our team. She has extensive experience with nonprofits and will provide valuable insight as we continue to grow.”

The new director has spent 25 years in nonprofit management and development, raising millions of dollars. Her resume includes being executive director at Community Foundation of Fayette County; development director and major gifts officer for Senator John Heinz History Center; and development director of West Virginia University Foundation, College of Creative Arts.

MVA was formed in April 2016 from the merger of Mid-Monongahela Industrial Development Association and Mon Valley Progress Council.
