BENTLEYVILLE
Assault, theft charges: George M. Lacotta III, 35, of 1010 Old West Road, Bentleyville, was arrested Monday afternoon by Bentleyville police on charges of simple assault, theft, harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of tackling his girlfriend on the sidewalk outside their home. He then allegedly took her purse and cellphone and locked himself inside the residence. He reportedly fled before police arrived. Lacotta was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released from Washington County jail after posting $20,000 bond.
CANONSBURG
Windows broken: Bill Kotyk told Canonsburg police Monday two windows were broken at a house he owns at 207 Orchard Ave.
Suspicious package: James Sulkowski told Canonsburg police Friday a package he did not order was delivered to his home. Police told him to notify postal authorities.
DONORA
Strangulation, assault charges: Emmett Jetson Rivers, 45, of 143 Thompson Ave., Donora, was arrested Monday afternoon by Donora police on charges of strangulation, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness after he allegedly choked his girlfriend during a confrontation at their home. Police said they found him walking down the street. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released from Washington County jail after posting $20,000 bond.
MONONGAHELA
Officer assaults alleged: Paul E. Moffett, 37, of McKeesport, is charged by city police with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse Moffett of being combative with police officers at a traffic stop about 7:40 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Staib Street, and later at Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Tuesday in a summons.
SOUTH STRABANE
Money stolen: South Strabane police said $500 was reported stolen Sunday from Little Caesars, 1 Park Place.
WASHINGTON
Business burglarized: The owner of Albano Produce, 60 South St., told Washington police Tuesday morning a burglar broke into the business by forcing open doors on the west side of the building. Cash and checks were stolen.
Gun stolen: Henry Lacks told Washington police Monday a High Point 9 mm handgun was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked outside his home in the 500 block of Fayette Street May 16.
