CANONSBURG

Driver faces charges: Brandie Powell, 38, of 592 Galaxy Drive, Washington, faces charges after she crashed her vehicle into a parked vehicle Wednesday night in the 100 block of East Pitt Street, Canonsburg police said. Her 20-month-old son was in the vehicle but was not injured. Police said she failed field-sobriety tests, and further testing indicated she was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn.

Charged in crash: Michael James Casper, 24, of 317 Hawthorne St., Canonsburg, was charged by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from a crash Oct. 12 in the parking lot at 605 W. Pike St. Police said tests showed he had cocaine and marijuana in his system. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

CENTERVILLE

Burglary arrest: Roger Allen Briggs, 46, of 2311 Sandy Plains Road, Clarksville, was arrested late Wednesday by Centerville police on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly tried to force his way into a home in the 2100 block of Sandy Plains after he was asked to leave. Police said they found him outside the home, leaning against his truck. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and released from Washington County Jail after posting a $5,000 percentage bond.

McDONALD

Charged with trespass: Garrett Scott Straffon, 27, of 118 S. McDonald St., McDonald, was charged this week by McDonald police with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment after he allegedly climbed onto a roof in the 200 block of Valley Street before kicking in a door and entering the home during an Oct. 24 domestic dispute. He also allegedly broke the victim’s cellphone. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.

MONESSEN

Man jailed: Hunter S. Telegraphis, 20, of 1106 Athalia Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse him of having 135 Xanax tablets without a prescription when an officer investigating an unrelated burglary complaint approached him about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in an unnamed alley off the 600 block of Summit Avenue. Telegraphis was placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $5,000 bond set by a senior district judge in Monessen.

NEW EAGLE

Fugitive arrested: Donald Braucher, 34, of Malden, Mo., was arrested Tuesday night by Monongahela police as a fugitive from justice. Police received information he was staying at a home at 135 Union St. in New Eagle. He is wanted on a warrant in Missouri for felony stalking and as a parole absconder. Braucher was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County Jail without bond pending extradition.

NORTH CHARLEROI

Bar cited: The operator of Norman Baker’s Pub, 464 Center Ave., North Charleroi, was cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly furnishing alcohol to a 19-year-old on Sept. 10.

SMITH

Fraud, theft arrest: Merdan Abliz, 30, of 94 Francis Mine Road, Burgettstown, was arrested Wednesday by Smith police on charges of access device fraud and theft. He is accused of using a Smith woman’s debit card and checking account information to make $1,173.57 in purchases between July 2 and Sept. 10. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released after posting $2,500 bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Gunshot hits house: Mona Canfield told South Strabane police Wednesday that she heard a gunshot fired from behind her home in the area of Evergreen Drive. Police found a bullet embedded in the brick wall of her home.

Two charged: Amber Coleman, 31, of Westland, and Chastity Janchenko, 35, of Oakdale, were charged by South Strabane police with retail theft after they allegedly stole items valued at $128.95 from Spirit, Washington Mall, on Oct. 17.

WASHINGTON

Card accessed: Taneesha Smith of Washington told Washington police Wednesday that her Florida Department of Revenue debit card was used without her permission to make $892.11 in purchases.

Trespass alleged: Shawn Vader, 38, of 916 Ewing St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with criminal trespass after he allegedly entered a home in the 200 block of North Franklin Street without permission on Wednesday.

Man robbed, assaulted: Nevin Mitchell, 30, of New Freeport, told Washington police Wednesday night that he was assaulted and robbed of $200 as he walked to a bus stop after leaving Washington Hospital. He told police that his attacker also damaged his cellphone. The alleged assailant is described a black man weighing about 250 pounds and wearing a gray, hooded shirt.

Bicycle stolen: Steve McKean of Washington told Washington police Wednesday that his motorized mountain bicycle that he had made himself was stolen from outside the Bottle Shop, Cumberland Avenue.

Money stolen: Flo Moffit of 830 S. Main St. told Washington police Tuesday that $300 was stolen from her purse.

Card used: Steve Coons of Washington told Washington police Tuesday that his credit card information was used to make $103 in purchases on an X-box account.

GPS stolen: Lara Wilson of Wilson Avenue told Washington police Tuesday that a Garman global-positioning system unit was stolen from her vehicle. The passenger-side tires were flattened, and the side of the vehicle was scratched.

Money withdrawn: Julio Astfalk of Washington told Washington police Tuesday that information from his bank card was used to withdraw $550 from his account at a location in Michigan.

Vehicle scratched: Zachary Kenny of Bud Street told Washington police Tuesday that his vehicle was scratched while parked in the Millcraft Center lot, West Chestnut Street.

Items stolen: Stephanie Henderson of 109 W. Walnut St. told Washington police Tuesday that a green fleece jacket, two bracelets and a ring were stolen from her apartment.

Bar cited: The operators of Circle K Bar, 701 W. Chestnut St., Washington, were cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly furnishing a 19-year-old with an alcoholic beverage.
