CUMBERLAND
Assault charges: Christopher Warren Davis, 33, of 200 E. Franklin St., Waynesburg, was charged by Cumberland Township police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly trying to throw his mother down a flight of stairs Wednesday night. Police said they responded to a home in the 100 block of Kovelcheck Road for the report of a domestic disturbance. Police said Davis had shoved his mother, bruised her arms by grabbing them and attempted to throw her down a set of stairs. The mother told police Davis took her medication and “threw her out in the cold,” according to the criminal complaint. Police said both of Davis’ parents told police Davis was in the garage with a gun and was dangerous. Police arrested Davis and found Suboxone pills and methamphetamine in the garage. Police said Davis appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was combative with officers. Police also found a woman in the basement of the house, and she was taken to WHS-Greene hospital for a drug overdose.
False identification charge: Gregory Grim Jr., 30, of 127 Crucible Road, Carmichaels was charged by Cumberland Township police with giving a false identification to law enforcement following a traffic stop Tuesday night on South Eighty Eight Road in the township. Police said Grim gave them the wrong name because he had an arrest warrant out of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. When officers returned to Grim’s vehicle, he had cracked open a beer and was drinking it, police said. Grim also received three traffic citations.
