First responders from Fort Cherry Ambulance and Canonsburg Hospital Ambulance Service give oxygen to a cat rescued from a house fire Wednesday in Chartiers Township.
Two cats were pulled from a burning home in Chartiers Township Wednesday afternoon.
The residents of 305 Valley Road were not home about 1:45 p.m. when the fire started, according to Chartiers firefighter Fred Simpson.
“All of the animals were accounted for,” he said.
Once removed from the house, the cats were treated with oxygen by Canonsburg EMS.
Simpson said the fire started in the basement, one room of which was damaged. He said the first and second floors in the home had smoke damage, but he said the house “can be cleaned and repaired.”
