FRANKLIN
Welfare fraud charge: Melissa L. Temple, 34, of 20 Applewood Drive, New Eagle, was charged by the state inspector general’s office with welfare fraud after she allegedly received $3,157 in public assistance benefits in 2017. The criminal complaint states Temple failed to report to the Greene County assistance office that she had been employed from May 2017 through December 2017.
Drug charges: Jaymes Weslee Vulcano, 18, of 133 Deerlick Station Road, Nineveh, was charged by state police with possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after he allegedly sold four grams of marijuana at Little Caesars on East High Street in Franklin Township Tuesday afternoon.

Firearms charges: Harry Walter Johnson IV, 39, of West Virginia, was charged by Greene County Regional Police with firearms not to be carried without a license and resisting arrest Wednesday evening. Police said Johnson came to the station to pick up someone who had been arrested for drug paraphernalia charges. When Johnson got to the station, police said they discovered there was a bench warrant for him out of Washington County. Johnson attempted to resist arrest and told police he had a gun, the criminal complaint said. Police said as Johnson reached for his hip, an officer threatened to use a Taser on him. Police said they found him in possession of a pistol, for which he does not have a concealed-carry permit.
