False alarm draws extra security to Beth-Center
FREDERICKTOWN – A threat discovered Thursday on social media drew concerns about safety at Bethlehem-Center School District campus in what ended up being a false alarm.
The district asked state police to provide an “extra layer of security” on Friday after the threat that initially was believed to have been made by a former student was discovered by a counselor about 9:30 p.m., district Superintendent Chris Sefcheck said.
“It ended up not being true,” Sefcheck said Friday afternoon. “There was no credibility to it.”
He said one person made the threat to another and it ended up having no relationship to the school district.
