CANONSBURG

Boyfriend faces charges: Geoffrey Marcus Brown, 35, of 940 Fayette St., Washington, will be charged by Canonsburg police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the head with a cellphone charger during a confrontation just before 3 a.m. Wednesday at her home on Highfield Avenue. Police also were called there about three hours earlier for an argument

CARROLL

Woman charged: Samaria N. Jackson, 31, of Uniontown, is charged by township police with possessing a small amount of marijuana, trespassing, possessing drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident at a midget league football game at Ringgold High School stadium about 2:20 p.m. Sept. 30, court records show. Police said she used vulgar and profane language on school property along Route 136. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Tuesday by summons.

INDEPENDENCE

Two arrested: Jonathan Alan Gzikowski, 38, of 118 Possum Hollow Road, Avella, and Jolene D. Moore, 36, of 176 Elm Road, Avella, were arrested Tuesday night by state police after a confrontation at 30 Short St., Independence. Moore told police Gzikowski put his hands on her neck and choked her before hitting her in the head with a broom handle. Gzikowski told police Moore punched him in the head. He is charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment. She is charged with simple assault and harassment. Both were arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka. Gzikowski was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. Moore was placed in jail on $2,500 bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Thefts alleged: Adrienne Marie Jennings, 30, of 783 Regent Drive, Washington, and Douglas Michael Ranegar, 37, of 1110 Sycamore Drive, Washington, are accused of stealing items from Kohl’s and Dick’s, both at Strabane Square, Tuesday. South Strabane police were called by Kohl’s security after a woman, later identified by police as Jennings, fled in a car while a man fled into a nearby wooded area on Berry Road. Police said Ranegar was found with items reportedly stolen from Kohl’s. The car was found in a driveway in the 500 block of Manifold Road. Jennings was taken into custody and placed in Washington County jail on a bench warrant. She was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on two counts of retail theft. Havelka set bond at $5,000. Ranegar was released and will be charged by summons with retail theft.

Charged in theft: Jacqueline Andrews, 32, of 227 Thornwood Drive, Canonsburg, was charged by South Strabane police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items valued at $165.87 from Target, Strabane Square, Tuesday. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller. She also was banned from the store.

WASHINGTON

Wallet stolen: Shannon McGowan of Houston told Washington police Tuesday a man she knows stole her wallet after she gave him a ride from a West Chestnut Street business. When he got out of her vehicle, she noticed he had her wallet. He ran, and she chased him before losing sight of him. Charges are pending, police said.
