A 64-year-old Donora man was killed early Monday morning after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed near a ramp in the Mon Valley borough.

The Washington County coroner’s office said Barry W. Carnahan was pronounced dead at Mon Valley Hospital just before 7:30 a.m. An hour earlier, Carnahan was the sole person involved in a single-vehicle wreck near the on/off ramp for South McKean Avenue and the Donora-Monessen Bridge.

The cause and manner of death are still pending.

A Mon Valley EMS ambulance crew transported him to the hospital.

A release from the coroner said borough police are investigating the crash. Borough volunteer firefighters and state police also responded to the accident.
