‘Vast majority’ of customers have power back in Charleroi
Most of the 1,000 customers who lost power in Charleroi as a result of a Sunday morning crash had it restored by 3 p.m., according to a West Penn Power spokesman.
The “vast majority” of customers had their power back, said Jeff Straight of West Penn Power.
A van hit and sheared off a utility pole in the 1200 block of Route 88 and went over an embankment at 6:05 a.m., Washington County 911 said. Power lines, along with cable and phone lines, were downed. Traffic signals were out in downtown Charleroi.
Two people in the van were uninjured in the crash.
