Medical director pleads guilty
PITTSBURGH – The medical director for a Bridgeville Suboxone clinic entered a guilty plea in federal court to unlawfully distributing controlled substances.
Mark R. Foster, 71, of 202 Village Place, Wexford, pleaded guilty this week to three counts before U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that co-defendant Terry Brown owned and operated Cherry Way, a Suboxone clinic in Bridgeville, and that Foster was a medical director at Cherry Way.
Suboxone is used to treat adults who are addicted to either prescribed or illegal opioids.
Prosecutors alleged that Brown and Foster conspired to create and submit unlawful prescriptions for Suboxone; Adderall, which is used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; and Percocet, a painkiller; and then unlawfully dispensed the drugs to Brown and others.
