Senior expo planned in Moon
Rep. Mark Mustio, R-Allegheny, and Sen. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Jefferson Hills, will host their 2018 Senior Citizen Wellness Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel, 1160 Thorn Run Road, Moon Township.
Senior citizens, their families and their caregivers will have the opportunity to meet with and obtain information from representatives of local, state, federal and nonprofit organizations who can answer questions on health care, insurance, nutrition, personal safety and much more.
Some of this year’s participants will include PA Office of Consumer Advocate, Better Business Bureau, state Department of Human Services, state Fish and Boat Commission, and the state Public Utility Commission.
Keynote speaker William McKendree, coordinator of the Allegheny County APPRISE Program, will talk about Medicare and emphasize the upcoming changes to the Medicare system for 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Flu and pneumonia shots will be provided by RITEAID Pharmacy. Call 412-262-3780 to reserve a time. Seniors interested in receiving a flu or pneumonia shot should bring their Medicare information to the event.
