Local attorney faces charge in Cleveland
A Washington attorney faces a charge of gross sexual imposition in Cleveland, Ohio, according to the Cuyahoga County Court online docket.
Joseph C. Francis, 42, of Canton Township, was arrested Oct. 14, posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond and was released two days later under a no-contact order.
A Monday plea appearance was canceled, and the case will be submitted to a grand jury, said a spokeswoman for the Cleveland police department. An online request for a police report did not result in a reply Tuesday.
Francis did not immediately return a phone message requesting comment.
According to an account published by the Cleveland Plain Dealer website, Francis is accused of drunkenly groping a downtown Cleveland hotel bartender and forcefully trying to kiss a hotel concierge when the two were inside an elevator.
Francis, who was a guest at the hotel, was taken to a hospital for an evaluation, the news story said.
