Bentleyville Road bridge to close temporarily
Construction for the Bentleyville Road bridge, spanning Pigeon Creek in Fallowfield Township, will require a 24-hour closure of Bentleyville Road on Nov. 2 for beam setting at the bridge.
During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Interstate 70, Route 481 and Bentleyville Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
Exercise planned at SCI-Greene
State police and the state Department of Corrections staff will conduct a joint exercise at SCI-Greene prison in Franklin Township between 8 a.m. and noon Thursday.
There will be an increased police presence in the area, including a state police helicopter. Emergency systems such as sirens will be used during the drills. The exercises are not open to the public, and the information provided is only to prevent panic.
