CUMBERLAND

Fleeing police: Jesse Travis Czemerda, 29, of 1134 Crucible Road, Rices Landing, was charged with fleeing police, accident involving damage, disorderly conduct and various motor vehicle violations after Cumberland Township police said he struck a parked vehicle at 202 W. George St. in Carmichaels and then fled the scene. Cumberland police chased his pickup truck before Czemerda crashed near Willis Road in the township, according to court documents.

Illegal firearm possession: Donald Lee Evans, 25, of 530 Ceylon Road, Carmichaels, was charged with prohibited possession of a firearm after state police said he had a handgun in his truck while the members of the state Board of Probation and Parole searched his Cumberland Township residence Thursday morning. Evans, who was on parole and not permitted to possess a gun, was arraigned by District Judge Lee Watson and taken to the Greene County jail on $100,000 bond.

FRANKLIN

Crash at intersection: One person was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., after a crash at 6 a.m. Monday. State police said Bradley M. Phillips, 29, of Nemacolin, was driving west on Route 21 when Nevin L. Mitchell, 30, of New Freeport, approached a stop sign at Bedilion Road intersection in Franklin Township and continued onto Route 21, hitting Phillips. Mitchell was taken to Ruby for a suspected minor injury. His passenger, Michael A. Braun, 35, of Carmichaels, and Phillips both declined to be transported.
