Washington man reports armed threat
A 25-year-old Washington man told Washington police he was threatened Friday by another man with a gun outside the U.S. Post Office on Jefferson Avenue.
Malcolm Hython said he was coming out of the post office with a female acquaintance. A man also left the post office at the same time.
The other man reportedly confronted Hython over money he claimed was owed to him. Hython reportedly told the other man he did not know what he was talking about, police said. The other man threatened to harm Hython if he did not give him the money.
When the other man got into a white Chevrolet Equinox, he pulled out a gun and brandished it, again telling Hython he would kill him if he did not pay him the money. Hython told police the vehicle was driven by a woman, and two women were passengers. The vehicle turned north on Jefferson, proceeding to Factory Way. Police searched the area, but were not able to locate the vehicle.
Hython told police the other man looked familiar, but he did not know his name.
Police are continuing the investigation into the threats.
