Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Among those appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:
Charles Lenard Johnson Jr., 24, 302 Strawberry Way, California; disorderly conduct; charged Aug. 11; sentence – $100 fine.

Eric Brandon Williams, 34, 616 Thompson Ave., Donora; driving under the influence; charged May 13; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program, 60 days on ScramX monitor, $750 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension and 12 months of ignition interlock device.
Kyle Alexander Harnen, 29, 161 Vista Drive, Canonsburg; driving under the influence; charged Dec. 7, 2017; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program, 15 days on electronic home monitoring, $300 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension and 12 months of ignition interlock device.
Michael J. Sweetie Sr., 50, 6 Bulger Block Road, Bulger; driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility and speeding; charged May 27; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program, 30 days on electronic home monitoring, $741 fine, 27-month driver’s license suspension and 12 months of ignition interlock device.
Thomas Alan Mordecki, 59, 4450 Rostosky Ridge Road, Monongahela; driving under the influence; charged March 6; sentence – 45 days in jail, five years in the intermediate punishment program, six months on ScramX monitor, $1,500 fine, 18-month driver’s license suspension and 12 months of ignition interlock device.
Bret G. Plante, 43, 124 Lake Forest Road, Venetia; driving under the influence; charged March 18; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program, 60 days on electronic home monitoring, $750 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension and 12 months of ignition interlock device.
Abbey O’Leary, 21, 239 Mahoney Road, Coraopolis; driving under the influence; charged Dec. 27, 2017; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program, five days on electronic home monitoring, $500 fine and 12-month driver’s license suspension.
James Michael Bonar Jr., 35, 1127 Oakgrove Ave., Steubenville, Ohio; driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance; charged April 5; sentence – three days in jail, six months in the intermediate punishment program, six months of probation, 15 days on electronic home monitoring, $1,000 fine and 12-month driver’s license suspension.
Joseph John Barnes, 52, 44 Griffith Ave., Washington; driving under the influence; charged May 15; sentence – six months in the intermediate punishment program.

Angel Dawn Meininger, 35, 29 Overland Ave., Apt. 2, Duquesne; retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft; charged Dec. 16, 2016; sentence – 18 months of probation and no contact with Under Armour, Walmart, Lowe’s, Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Thomas R. Penwell III, 31, 138 Hall Ave., Washington; possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of retail theft; charged Feb. 25, March 8 and 23 and June 20, 2017; sentence – three-and-a-half years of probation and no contact with Target and Shop ‘n Save.
James Gaston Jr., 27, 825 Beech St., Washington; false identification to law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and harassment; charged Dec. 1, 2016, and Feb. 1, 2017; sentence – 12 months of probation, 90 days on electronic home monitoring and $700 fine.
Richard Allen Liberatore, 48, 312 Second St., Vestaburg; terroristic threats; charged May 5, 2017; sentence – 12 months of probation and no contact with the victims.
Phillip Michael Foeks, 28, 590 Fayette Ave., Washington; simple assault; charged Sept. 17, 2017; sentence – 23 months in the intermediate punishment program, six months on electronic home monitoring and no contact with the victim.
Amberly Lynn Pettit, 38, 725 Fayette St., Washington; three counts of delivery of a controlled substance; charged Nov. 29, 2016, and Feb. 15 and April 12, 2017; sentence – nine to 23 months in jail and two years of probation.
Brian Michael Cortez Szafranski, 29, 310 Hillside Ave., Washington; terroristic threats; charged Feb. 3; sentence – 18 months of probation and no contact with the victims.
