Heroin delivery charges are piling up against a father and son from Fallowfield Township who were jailed last month in drug cases.

State police filed two new cases Wednesday against Donald Franks, 49, and his son, Jobe, 23, accusing them of selling heroin on separate occasions to a confidential informant in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, court records show.

Westmoreland District Attorney John W. Peck gave Washington County permission to prosecute those cases since the men are in custody on identical charges stemming from alleged heroin sales in Fallowfield, court records show.

The Franks were placed in Washington County jail, each on $10,000 bond, after state police charged the younger Franks with selling heroin stamp bags to an informant April 5 and July 28. Donald Franks was charged in one case that involved an alleged July 26 sale of heroin.

In the new cases, state police accuse the father and son of selling an informant 10 stamp bags of the drugs May 8 on Tri-County Lane and the same amount of heroin May 16 near Gibsonton Road.

District Judge Larry Hopkins set bonds against the Frankses, of 529 Woodward Ave., at $50,000 each Thursday.

Meanwhile, Donald Franks’ wife, Melissa, is awaiting an Oct. 4 preliminary hearing before Hopkins on charges she participated in one of the heroin delivery cases. She is free on $10,000 bond.

Each member of the family is facing charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy and drug possession.
