Restrictions for Pittsburgh tunnels, bridge in place
The state Department of Transportation has announced there will be traffic restrictions in two Pittsburgh tunnels and a bridge this week.
There will be overnight restrictions in both the Liberty and Fort Pitt tunnels. The inbound Liberty Tunnel will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday morning so crews can conduct equipment testing and electrical work. The outbound Fort Pitt Tunnel will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday morning as crews test the dry standpipe.
Detours will be posted for both tunnel closures. There will be lane restrictions on the Liberty Bridge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday.
