WASHINGTON

Single-vehicle crash: No one was injured when a car hit a fire hydrant Monday afternoon state police said. Dylan C. Boyle, 19, of Waynesburg, was driving north on Route 19 south of Good Hill Road when he lost control negotiating a curve, left the roadway and hit a fire hydrant, causing disabling damage to the vehicle, police said.

Four arrested on burglary charges: Four people were arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly entering a vacant Waynesburg apartment and taking items, borough police said. Kayla Lee Ross, 24, of 93 Bliss Ave., Nemacolin, James Robert Schiffbauer, 28, of 270 Perry Ave., Nemacolin, Joshua Allen Seeholzer, 28, no address listed and Christina Louise Wellman, 34, no address listed, each face one count of burglary and trespassing. Waynesburg police received a report of suspicious people at 236 E. Lincoln St. Monday just after 3 p.m. A man and woman were seen crawling out of a window and carrying items to a vehicle. Both the homeowner and renter told police that no one was to be in the apartment. Their preliminary hearings before District Judge David Balint have been set for Sept. 24 at 3 p.m.
