CALIFORNIA

Trespass charge: David W. Neil, 62, of California, will be charged by California police with criminal trespass after police say he was seen inside Liberty Towers, 520 Liberty St., on Oct. 26 after he had been banned from the premises.

Falsse identification alleged: Curtis L. Starr, 35, of California, will be charged by California police with false identification to police after an Aug. 24 traffic stop on Route 88 near Rotary Park. He reportedly gave police an incorrect name.

CANTON

Drugs, weapon arrest: Frank Cooper III, 25, of 740 Findlay St., Canton, was arrested Tuesday morning by state police on charges of persons not to possess a firearm and possession of marijuana, crack and paraphernalia. State police had gone to his home to serve an arrest warrant and said they smelled marijuana. They also said Cooper was seen getting out of a vehicle that smelled of marijuana. After getting a search warrant for the vehicle and house, police said they found a handgun, a large amount of marijuana, crack and a scale in the vehicle. Cooper was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

Arrested on warrant: Traiya Mary Ellen Carr, 19, of 516 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg, was taken into custody Tuesday night at her home by Canonsburg police on a warrant obtained by state police charging her with theft and receiving stolen property. She is accused of stealing guns and a vehicle from a home at 1105 W. Wylie Ave., Canton, Friday. The vehicle was later found in Somerset Township. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis Wednesday morning and released from Washington County jail after posting $2,500 bond. She was returned to jail a short time late on an adult probation detainer.

CHARLEROI

Assault arrest: Brandon Dean Pritchett, 29, of 728 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Charleroi Regional police on a charge of simple assault after he allegedly punched a man in the head during a confrontation at 803 Lincoln Ave. The alleged victim was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Pritchett was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

CHARTIERS

Woman hit: Chartiers police said a woman was deliberately hit with a vehicle as she walked at a playground off Governors Circle about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday. The driver then fled. The woman was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Additional information was not immediately available.

DONEGAL

Three injured: Cassie Gilarski, 22, Jerry Barnett, 18, and John Junkins, 25, who all live in the Donegal area, were injured when the all-terrain side-by-side vehicle they were riding crashed about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday on Main Road near Pogue Road, Donegal police said. Two were taken to local hospitals and one was taken to a Pittsburgh hospitals. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Township police said the investigation is continuing.

SMITH

Driver charged: John Gilbert Shoup, 53, of 769 Joffre-Cherry Valley Road, Burgettstwon, was charged Wednesday by Smith police with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and careless driving stemming from an Aug. 25 incident. Police were called for a harassment complaint stemming from an incident that reportedly started as a verbal confrontation in Midway. Shoup and another man were reportedly riding motorcycles during parts of the confrontation. When police arrived at Shoup’s home, they said they could smell marijuana. Shoup allegedly admitted to riding his motorcycle. He was taken to Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center, where blood was drawn. According to police, tests showed that he had marijuana, cocaine and Clonazepam in his system, and his blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

WASHINGTON

Man threatened: Lamonta Smith, 23, of West Walnut Street, told Washington police Tuesday he was receiving telephone calls from a man who was threatening “to blow his head off.” Smith told police he did not know if it had anything to do with his being robbed a few weeks ago near the intersection of West Walnut and North Franklin streets. He told police he did not report the robbery. Smith said $250 was stolen.

Two charged: Mary Plumley, 51, who has addresses in Strabane and McDonald, and Charles Cole, 52, of 1090 Michigan Ave., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and criminal trespass after they allegedly were engaged in a sex act while in public view on the loading dock of a building in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue. Police said they had to tell them to stop three times. They said 90 minutes later, Plumley was found intoxicated, yelling with two men at the intersection of Jefferson and Second Street. She was taken into custody on a parole detainer and placed in Washington County jail. She also will be charged with public drunkenness in the second incident.

Burglary reported: An employee said the Care Center, 75 E. Maiden St., was burglarized late Monday or early Tuesday. The burglar apparently broke glass on a rear door, reached inside and unlocked the door. The burglar then entered an office and unbolted a safe from the floor. The safe, which contained a credit card and about $300, was stolen, police said.

Vehicles entered: Rachel Hrutkay of McKinley Avenue and Deanne Montgomery of Arch Street both told Washington police Tuesday their vehicles were entered. Hrutkay reported ear buds and a Rolo vaporizer were stolen. Montgomery told police a headset, ear buds and backpack were stolen from her vehicle.

Graffiti found: Washington police said graffiti that was derogatory in nature against police was found painted Tuesday on a support pillar at the Interstate 70 viaduct in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue.
