The Greene County Elderly Abuse Task Force will host an “Elder Justice Day” Sept. 27 to address fraud and abuse of vulnerable older adults.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley View Farm, 108 Orndorff Road. Teresa Osborne, secretary of the state Department of Aging, is set to speak. Those interested in attending must RSVP by Thursday to Nancy Riggle at 724-852-1510 or at nriggle@swpa-aaa.org.

The event is sponsored by the Greene County Elderly Abuse Task Force, First Federal of Greene County, BluePrints and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging. Catering will be provided by culinary arts students from the Greene County Career and Technology Center.

The mission of the Greene County Elder Abuse Task Force is to educate and increase community awareness in the identification and reporting of potential physical and emotional abuse, financial exploitation, neglect or abandonment of older adults.
