The cause and manner of a Peters Township couple’s deaths were released Monday evening by the Washington County coroner.

The bodies of Craig Alan Bryan, 48, and his wife, Kelly Ann Bryan, 44, were found by their children Sunday morning inside their home at 117 Marlboro Drive, state police said.

Kelly Bryan died due to strangulation, and her husband’s death was caused by a self-inflicted knife wound to the neck, according to county Coroner Tim Warco. Their deaths are being treated as a homicide-suicide.

Warco pronounced the couple dead shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators were called about 6:30 a.m. for a report of “suspicious deaths” in the home on a dead-end street, police said. Peters Township police responded to the house, but later handed the investigation over to state police.

The couple had a 17-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son, who were being cared for Sunday by relatives, police said.
