Cal U. hosts day of art and music
The public is invited to attend of day of art and music May 2 at California University of Pennsylvania.
The President’s Backyard Celebration will feature outdoor performances by two stars from “The Voice” and “American Idol.” Chris Jamison, a Pittsburgh native who competed on the seventh season of “The Voice,” will perform at 6 p.m., and Gabby Barrett of Munhall, who placed third on season 16 of “American Idol,” will take the stage at 7. Bring a blanket or chair. Free snacks will be available as well as food for purchase. The concert will be moved to Steele Hall in the event of inclement weather.
Vulcan Hall will host the Vulcan Art and Languages Party from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Art students will display their prints, jewelry, drawings and paintings, and music will be performed by student musicians. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., pottery created by Pottery Club members will be on sale in the ceramics studio near Vulcan Hall.
The events are free, and free parking will be available in Lot 4.
