The Chartiers Township Police Department will serve as a drop-off point for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event is a safe way for residents to remove unused drugs from their medicine cabinets. The drugs can be dropped off at the police department, located at 2 Buccaneer Drive.

Residents will also be able to drop off drugs at Monongahela Valley Hospital. That drop-off will be held at the circular driveway area outside the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center.

Participants should remove any personal identification from the bottles or packages. While liquid products and creams will be accepted, sharps and syringes will not due to potential hazards.

Donors will remain anonymous and police will not request their information.
