A woodworking shop in Morris Township burned down early Monday morning.

Morris Township fire Chief Dave Dietrich said his department responded about 12:30 a.m. to the garage-like structure behind a residence on Martin Lane.

Dietrich said no one was in the building or injured during the fire, which caused between $15,000 and $20,000 worth of damage. He declined to give the owner’s name.

“He lost quite a bit of equipment and a quad that was parked outside,” Dietrich said.

A fire marshal was called to investigate the cause, but Dietrich said he suspects it started from a wood-burning stove inside the building.

Assisting Morris Township were Ambulance and Chair and firefighters from South Franklin, Amwell, Lone Pine and Waynesburg.
