Monongahela may expand office hours for City Hall
MONONGAHELA – Council is considering expanding City Hall’s business hours to improve service to the public.
During a workshop meeting on Monday, council member Claudia Williams recommended changing office hours to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Currently, staff work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We are doing an injustice to our taxpayers if no one is here to take their calls or address their concerns,” said Williams. “We want to make City Hall more accessible to the public.”
All three of the city’s office staff are salaried employees who get benefits.
Solicitor Todd Pappasergi said the council has to vote on any matter that may involve salary expenditures.
Council is expected to vote on changing office hours during its regular meeting Wednesday.

- Council members said they will vote Wednesday on granting a license to Black Diamond Iron and Metal and transfer of a liquor license to HogFathers BBQ.
- Williams reminded residents that they can be fined for parking on sidewalks. She said that several sidewalks are being damaged by parked cars, and added that the police department will enforce the city’s parking ordinance.
