Eighty Four man declares candidacy in district judge race

Lawrence D. Fowler, a state constable who lives in Eighty Four, has declared his candidacy for the district judge’s seat that was vacated last month by Jay Weller.

Before becoming a constable, Fowler was an automotive and heavy equipment mechanic with more than 25 years of experience. A lifelong resident of Washington County, he grew up in Avella. In his announcement, Fowler said that if he is elected, “I will serve the people of the county to the best of my ability for as long as they deem me worthy to do so.”

Magisterial District 27-3-05 includes East Washington, Pancake, Strabane, North Strabane, South Strabane, Pancake, Manifold, Laboratory and part of Eighty Four.
