Rostraver schedules meetings for proposed Village Residential District Ordinance
Residents who live in smaller communities throughout Rostraver Township may soon be able to cut through the red tape when they want to make certain types of alterations to their properties.
The township’s commissioners agreed Wednesday to advertise a series of meetings for the proposed Village Residential District Ordinance. If passed, the modified ordinance would ease zoning restrictions for communities such as Collinsburg, Lynwood, Pricedale, Webster and VanMeter.
Residents who are affected by setbacks and other property restrictions could make modifications such as garage or porch additions to their properties without having to appear before the zoning hearing board.
Commissioner Devin DiRienzo encouraged residents to attend the meetings, which are scheduled for Feb. 13, Feb. 21, March 13, March 14 and March 19. The township will list locations for the meetings at www.rostraver.us.
Also, during, the meeting, the commissioners moved to hire Stephen Olesky as a full-time patrolman for the township’s police department.
