ROSTRAVER – An Allegheny County man is wanted in connection with a robbery and shooting last week in Rostraver Township.

Township police filed aggravated assault and related charges Saturday against the suspect, Solomon Michael Reddick-Barker, 18, of Duquesne, according to the warrant signed by District Judge Jason Buczak.

Police said the victim, Jason Allen, was shot in the hip during a struggle he had with Reddick-Barker about 4:30 p.m. Friday, court records indicate.

Allen said he knew the suspect when he let him and other man into his residence in Rostraver Apartments at 320 Mathews Road.

Once inside, the two men brandished handguns and demanded money from Allen, police stated in the affidavit supporting the criminal charges in the case.

Reddick-Barker then fired a round into the floor above an occupied apartment, police allege.

Allen told police he rushed at Reddick-Barker and fell to the floor after he was shot in the left hip.

Police said Reddick-Barker grabbed Allen’s backpack and fled with the other unknown suspect.

Allen was treated at Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township and flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, where he underwent surgery in its trauma center.

Reddick-Barker is also facing charges of robbery, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm without a license.
