A Washington County jury found two local doctors were not negligent in their treatment of a local businessman who died of complications related to a heart attack in 2014.

In a verdict filed this week with the prothonotary, jurors found in favor of Drs. Charles M. Brown and David M. Campsey.

John Alan Gordon, 56, who owned Premiere Auto Sales in Washington, sought treatment for a heart attack Aug. 4, 2014, at Washington Hospital.

Gordon suffered complications and was transferred to UPMC-Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, where one leg was amputated at the knee. His intestines also were found to have a lack of blood, and he died Aug. 8.

His widow, Michell Gordon of Eighty Four, filed a malpractice suit the following year, seeking compensation for lost earnings and other damages.

Presiding at the weeklong trial was Judge Michael Lucas.
