CUMBERLAND

Crash leads to charges: George Edward Wolfe III, 29, of Ronco, was charged last week with accident causing injury, nine months after he crashed his motorcycle into a car on Route 21 in Cumberland Township, injuring the driver and a child in the other vehicle. Cumberland Township police said Wolfe was speeding and passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone when he crashed into the vehicle May 21, hitting the rear of a car driven by Beth Stoneking as she was turning from Ceylon Road. Police said Stoneking was suffering from a headache following the crash, while one of two children in the car was taken to a local hospital complaining of a back injury. Wolfe was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with serious injuries. He admitted to taking Suboxone that was prescribed to him prior to the crash, according to court documents. Police said he apologized for the crash and asked investigators if the people in the other vehicle were OK. Police also charged Wolfe with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, driving on a suspended license and numerous traffic citations.
