MVA names Brown as operations director
Ben Brown has taken a job that will keep him closer to home.
Brown, an East Washington resident, has assumed the newly created position of director of operations with the Mon Valley Alliance. His duties with the Charleroi-based alliance will be many, and include:
- attracting new companies, and new jobs, to Alta Vista Business Park in Fallowfield Township;
- managing projects, including riverfront park development and Coyle Theater;
- working with members of the Mid Mon Valley Council of Governments initiative.
Until recently, Brown was vice president of Real Estate for Beynon & Co., a commercial real estate firm based in Pittsburgh that is more than a century old.
Chris Whitlatch, MVA’s chief executive officer, said in a statement: “We are excited to have Ben as a part of our team. His real estate, development and project management experience will not only be a key asset for MVA, but of great assistance to the communities that we serve.”
Brown previously was a national bank examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; a commercial real estate loan officer with The Bank of North Georgia; and broker/owner of an independent real estate office that focused on multi-family and office properties.
