FRANKLIN
Two hurt: Two men were hurt when their vehicle went off Jefferson Road, struck a tree and went into a stream shortly before 6:30 a.m. Sunday, state police said. The driver, Michael M. Crow, 21, of Waynesburg, had a minor injury, and a passenger Nathanial N. Adams, 20, of Sycamore, was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.
GREENE
Hindering apprehension: James Robert Vernon, 25, of 107 Turkey Knob Road, Greensboro, was charged Monday with hindering apprehension, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after Greene Regional police searched his Greene Township residence Sept. 4 looking for a wanted man who was reportedly staying there. Police said they found a hypodermic needle and crystal methamphetamine during the search.
One-vehicle crash: A Dilliner man faces a charge of driving under the influence after his vehicle went off Garards Fort Road near the intersection of Laurel Run Road early Tuesday, state police said. The vehicle driven by Wilson A. Smith, 54, hit a guardrail, went into a yard, down an embankment and struck a utility pole. He was not injured.
WAYNESBURG
Simple assault charge: Timothy Brown, 23, of 171 W. Locust Alley, Waynesburg, was charged with simple assault and harassment after borough police said he punched and choked his girlfriend at his residence shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday.
