Community LIFE to open new wellness center in Rostraver
Community LIFE, a program of all-inclusive care for older adults will be opening a new Health and Wellness Center in Rostraver Township that’s slated to be open and operational in the summer of 2019.
The center will be at the intersection of Snyder Lane and Route 51 and when it’s complete it will look similar to the center in Bedford that opened in 2018.
Staci Kaczkowski, director of marketing and community outreach, said opening a center at this location will allow the organization to expand services into Washington County and the site is really convenient to reach individuals in the Mon Valley area.
“We had the opportunity to work with a developer who purchased the site and will do a brand new construction for us,” she said.
Community LIFE has been serving Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties for 18 years and is preparing to expand services into Somerset County in 2020.
Kaczkowski said Community LIFE is a health insurance plan that becomes the Medicare and Medicaid plan for those who join them as their insurance provider. There are no co-pays and no deductibles for their clients.
She added that Community LIFE is an all-inclusive care plan for the elderly and only those enrolled in a Community LIFE plan can take advantage of the benefits at their centers, which will offer access to primary medical care, nursing, social services and meals.
“Our folks will know what days they will be coming in to take advantage of our services,” Kaczkowski said. “Maybe they come in on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, or maybe it’s a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On those days they will have a meal already ordered for them.”
She added that it does have a sort of senior center feel to it where members can participate in different activities that will be made available.
“With changing and complex health care options, older adults should be aware that Community LIFE is available for enrollment at any time throughout the year,” Kaczkowski.
“We are the most successful model in terms of preventing nursing home placement,” says Richard DiTommaso, Community LIFE’s President. “We go further than any other community option in integrating medical services with the long term living supports that people need.
“We are the only one in Pennsylvania right now financed to cover all things Medicare and Medicaid so that participants don’t have to worry about who covers what, co-pays, deductibles or confusing bills,” he added.
