BUFFALO TOWNSHIP
Reckless endangerment charge: Kevin Donald Hanes, 40, of 57 Clarke Road, was charged by state police with recklessly endangering another person after he allegedly fired a weapon while in a room of his residence with his wife early Saturday morning. Police said the couple had argued about 1 a.m. before Hanes pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the bedroom wall. His son then entered the room, took the gun from him, took the remaining rounds out and hid both the ammunition and the weapon from his father, police said.
CANONSBURG
Theft: A Canonsburg woman reported to Canonsburg police Friday morning that her wallet, cash, debit and identification cards were stolen from her vehicle, which was parked in the 200 block of Grace Avenue.
CANTON
Firearms charges: Derek William Lyle, 39, of 845 Ewing St., Washington, was charged by state police with person not to possess a firearm, firearms not to be carried without a license, criminal attempt, two counts of theft, and loitering and prowling at night after he allegedly stole a gun from a car early Monday. Police said Lyle was seen on security footage trying to enter a truck in the 200 block of Point View Drive about 1:45 a.m. When police arrested Lyle about 15 minutes later on Caldwell Avenue, they said they found him in possession of a gun that belongs to a resident in that neighborhood. The woman told police she had left the gun in her car.

False identification charge: Christopher Claude Steadman, 36, of 115 Vesta St., Elco, was charged by RESA Regional police with giving false identification to law enforcement, retail theft and disorderly conduct following an incident over the weekend. Police said that on Saturday, Steadman allegedly stole items from the Dollar General store. The next day, police said they saw Steadman walking and asked for his name, and he gave them a false name.
MONESSEN
Assaults alleged: Eric Paul Berggren, 52, of 509 Forrest St., Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault and harassment over allegations he slapped Kelly Keener across the face and punched a child in the head about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in his residence. A senior district judge in Monessen released Berggren the next day on $5,000 unsecured bond, court records show.
NORTH STRABANE
Terroristic threats charge: John Anthony McClain, 55, of 25 Vaniman St., Canonsburg, was charged by state police with terroristic threats, giving false identification to law enforcement, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following an incident Saturday night at The Meadows Casino. Police said that just before 10 p.m., McClain threatened to strike his girlfriend. Police said he then gave them a false name.
PETERS
Assault charges: Jessica J. Shearer, 33, of 557 Cortland Drive, Finleyville, was charged by Peters Township police with terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault and harassment, after she allegedly pointed a gun at her estranged husband while at her residence early Saturday. Police said that about 12:19 a.m., Shearer allegedly punched her estranged husband in the face multiple times, causing a bloody lip, and pointed a pistol at the side of his stomach. Police said the man was “in fear for his life.”
SOUTH STRABANE
Jackknifed rig: A tractor-trailer jackknifed Sunday night on Interstate 70 east, blocking the eastbound lanes for several hours. State police said the truck, driven by Michael A. Hodo, 38, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, hit the guardrail, then hit the concrete center median and jackknifed shortly before 8 p.m. Hodo and a passenger, Kenneth Masters, 34, of Lockbourne, Ohio, were not injured.
WASHINGTON
Assault charges: Jessica Lynn Stonebreaker, 28, of 1200 Fifth St., Waynesburg, was charged by Washington Health System police with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct after she allegedly attacked a nurse at a medical facility in Washington Saturday. Police said Stonebreaker allegedly grabbed a nurse and tried to choke her, before punching her in the face.
