Threat charge: Township police charged Jonathon C. Eckstein, 50, of Canton Township on Thursday with making terroristic threats and two counts of having a prohibited offensive weapon in connection with a Dec. 30 incident at his workplace, Covia, on Route 519. Police said Eckstein allegedly pulled out a 7 ½-inch-long dagger outfitted with a brass-knuckle handle that was on his waist and told two coworkers he was “going to kill someone tonight.” He also allegedly possessed a spring-actuated folding knife at the time. Eckstein was charged by summons from the district court in the township.
