Two workforce boards get federal funds

Two area workforce development boards will receive federal Business-Education Partnership funds.

The Westmoreland/Fayette Workforce Development Board will get $127,050 and the Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board (Greene, Washington and Beaver counties) will receive $100,000.

The funds will be used to educate and increase awareness of technical career opportunities.

A total of 22 local workforce development boards statewide have received grants that total $2.6 million.
