AMWELL
Forgery charge: Kevin Michael Knestrick, 21, of Carnegie, was charged by state police with forgery, access device fraud and theft after he allegedly forged a check in November. Police said a company on Ten Mile Road mailed a check to Ameron Beverage in the amount of $22.50 Nov. 15. Police said that on Nov. 20, that check was cashed at a Pittsburgh bank in the amount of $2,453.62. When police received copy of the check, they said it was made out to Knestrick.
CARROLL
Theft alleged: Terry Lee Vassar, 47, of 905 McKean Ave., Donora, is charged by township police with theft and deceptive business practices, court records show. He is accused of accepting $564 Dec. 29, 2017, from a woman who resides in the 10 block of Cemetery Road as partial payment to replace four windows in her residence without performing the work. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges in a summons Wednesday.
NORTH FRANKLIN
Assault charge: Charles Edward Poland, 53, of 126 Altamont Ave., was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment following a domestic disturbance at his residence Wednesday night. Police said Poland was allegedly intoxicated when he argued with a woman at the residence. She told him to leave several times, police said. Poland allegedly left, but returned to pound on the windows, according to the criminal complaint. Police said Poland then grabbed the woman and was about to strike her when her son intervened and punched Poland.
SOMERSET
One hurt: One driver was hurt in a two-vehicle crash about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 136 and Brownlee Road. A truck headed north on Brownlee, driven by William Seliga, 22, of Smock, hit a vehicle traveling east on Route 136, driven by Kayla Weinheimer, 31, of Madison. She suffered a minor injury but did not seek medical treatment. Seliga was not hurt.
