History Center to host award-winning filmmaker Lynn Novick
The Senator John Heinz History Center is continuing its series of talks on the Vietnam War with Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary filmmaker Lynn Novick and Washington Post columnist Alyssa Rosenberg on July 23 at 7 p.m.
Presented throughout the run of the History Center’s “The Vietnam War: 1945-1975” exhibit, the four-part series includes talks by nationally renowned speakers on the war’s origins, its impact on American society, and its lasting effects on the people of Vietnam.
Novick, who co-directed the epic, 10-part PBS documentary “The Vietnam War” with Ken Burns, will be joined by Rosenberg, who launched The Washington Post’s “The American War” podcast in 2017 in conjunction with the release of the documentary.
During the program, Novick and Rosenberg will discuss the impact of the Vietnam War on America, its politics and its people, raising questions about the role of U.S. policymakers in Vietnam and providing a lens through which to view one of the nation’s most controversial conflicts.
General admission is $20 per person. Register online at heinzhistorycenter.org/events.
