BENTLEYVILLE
Man jailed: Charles Boyd Kerns, 59, who is homeless, is charged by borough police with trespassing and illegal possession of a switchblade after he was found about 9:45 a.m. Thursday at 228 Beallsville Road after being told he was not permitted on the property, court records show. Kerns is in Washington County jail on $500 bail set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
CANTON
Drug, resisting charges: A warrant is out for the arrest of Steven Robert Sadler, 30, of 1162 Valleyview Drive, Cecil Township, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension and disorderly conduct by state police Thursday. According to the criminal complaint, Sadler fled on foot after police pulled him over at West Wylie Avenue and Hawkins Street about 3 a.m. June 9. Police said they found empty stamp bags, open alcohol and an “unknown, rock like substance” in the vehicle.
CHARTIERS
Threats charge: Joshua Wayne Shultz, 18, of 319 Allison Ave., Chartiers Township, was charged with terroristic threats by township police Thursday. According to the criminal complaint, Shultz threatened to shoot his probation officer.
HANOVER
Assault alleged: Eric Brancheck, 41, of 98 Verelst Lane, Hanover Township, was charged with two counts of simple assault by township police Friday. According to the criminal complaint, Brancheck threw down and punched a woman at his residence Thursday evening.
MONONGAHELA
Theft alleged: Harry Thompson, 43, of Adah, and Jay Snyder, 57, of Aliquippa, are charged by city police with theft and conspiracy over allegations they stole a large trash receptacle worth $4,500 about 11 a.m. July 10 from 1101 Railroad St., court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed warrants Friday for their arrests.
Man charged: Dean Parasolick, 48, of 428 Fourth Ave., New Eagle, is charged by city police with retaliation against a witness and false reports to police, court records show. Police said Parasolick made false allegations that another man pulled a gun on him about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at 200 Dry Run Road. Police said the man is a victim in another case in Forward Township involving Parasolick. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Thursday in a summons.
