Police arrest naked swimmer in Dunkard Township Sunday
A Lancaster man is facing multiple charges after police said they found him naked in a swimming pool at the 2 Rivers Marina and Campground Sunday afternoon, one of the hottest days of the year.
State police said that just after 2 p.m., they responded to the property at 2866 S. Eighty-Eight Road, Dunkard Township, for the report of a man swimming naked in the pool. When police arrived, Ryan M. Martin, 33, allegedly told them that he was cleaning the pool and he refused to get out.
Police spoke with the owners of 2 Rivers, Herman Gugliotta, who told them that Martin was not allowed to be in the pool, especially naked.
When police ordered Martin out of the pool, he allegedly refused to get out. When he did finally exit the pool, police tried to handcuff him, but he allegedly resisted them, according to the criminal complaint. Police tackled Martin and used a Taser on him, but he jumped back in the pool so they couldn’t use the Taser any longer, the complaint said.
Police said he eventually came out of the pool again, and police took him into custody. Martin was charged with resisting arrest, indecent exposure, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and open lewdness. He was arraigned by District Judge David Balint Monday morning and jailed on $10,000 bond.
Police did not say if alcohol or other substances may have contributed to Martin being in the pool, but the charges did not reflect anything of that nature. Sunday was one of the hottest days of the year so far, with some areas in the region reaching the mid-90s.
