The inaugural Thorobread Eighth Ward Community Event was held Saturday afternoon at the Eighth Ward Playground on Baird Avenue in the city’s West End. Nathan Oliverio, or “N8o,” of Washington said, since he grew up in that neighborhood, he and some of his friends, including Ryan Wallace, and other community members wanted to throw a backyard barbecue-style party for the neighborhood children to kick off the summer. There was music, food and games, along with a massive water balloon fight.
