Canon-McMillan High School graduation Thursday
Students from Canon-McMillan High School’s class of 2019 will walk across the stage to receive diplomas at commencement at 7 p.m. Thursday at Canon-McMillan Stadium.
The commencement will celebrate 365 graduates.
Maximillian Szalla, son of Kent and Amy Szalla, is valedictorian.
While in school, Szalla was a member of 13 activities. These include the marching and symphonic band, academic league and National Honor Society. He was awarded the AP Scholar with Honor Award for achieving an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams taken.
Szalla has been awarded four scholarships: Prem Sharma Memorial Foundation, PPG Foundation, University of Alabama Presidential and the Engineering Leadership Scholarship. He plans to attend the University of Alabama to study chemical engineering in the honors program.
Cameron Bunner, son of Matthew and the late Kimberly Bunner, is salutatorian.
Bunner plans to attend Penn State University to study biomedical engineering.
He was recognized with the National Merit Commended Student award for an outstanding PSAT score, and is an AP scholar. He was awarded three scholarships: the Italian American Cultural and Heritage Society of Washington County Scholarship, American Association of Drilling Engineers and the Penn State Engineering Recruitment Scholarship.
Honor speaker Grant Zeszutek, son of Joe and Michele Zeszutek, plans to attend Penn State University to study chemical engineering.
He is an AP Scholar recipient, EQT Student of Excellence and Weiss Breakthrough Scholar. Zeszutek received the United Way Donation Scholarship.
